Grizzlies South Carolina: Our Mission

The Grizzlies South Carolina is an exciting new offshoot of the nationally recognized CT Grizzlies, bringing elite girls’ lacrosse development to South Carolina with support from US Lacrosse Hall of Fame coach Lisa Lindley and co-founder Steph Calabrese. Directed by 3x All-American, 2010 ACC Player of the Year, and former Boston College assistant coach Billy Bitter (part of the 2021 NCAA Championship staff), our mission is to develop skilled, confident, and committed young athletes through expert coaching, year-round skill-building, teamwork, character development, and high-level competition—helping players maximize their potential both on and off the field.

About Lisa Lindley, Co-Founder of the CT Grizzlies

Lisa Lindley is one of the most accomplished and respected coaches in the history of girls lacrosse. Inducted into the US Lacrosse National Hall of Fame in 2020 as a truly great coach, she has led Darien High School (CT) since 1994 with a record of over 550 wins and an .842 winning percentage. Under her leadership, Darien has won 20 State Championships, 20 League Championships and produced nearly 100 USA Lacrosse All-Americans and over 125 All-State players. She has been named Connecticut Coach of the Year eight times and National Coach of the Year in 2023.

A three-time All-American at UMass in both lacrosse and field hockey, Lisa also played on the 1989 U.S. Women’s Lacrosse World Cup gold medal team. She is a member of the Connecticut Lacrosse Hall of Fame, UMass Athletics Hall of Fame, and several other halls of fame.

Together with Steph Calabrese, Lisa co-founded the CT Grizzlies, a program where over 90% of players have gone on to play college lacrosse. Their proven system for player development and high-level competition is exactly what we’re bringing to South Carolina with the Grizzlies South Carolina.

Tryouts and Season Information

Age Groups:
2033 - 5th Grade
2034 - 4th Grade
2035 - 3rd Grade
2036 - 2nd Grade
2037 - 1st Grade

Tryouts are for the 2026 Fall and 2027 Summer season teams. Plus enjoy weekly clinics from fall through winter to develop skills all year round - open to any players committed to growth! The weekly clinics will launch this August.

These tryouts are for the 2026 Fall and 2027 Summer club tournament seasons.
